October 29 at the Market!

Just ONE week left outside until the Yancey County Farmers’ Market moves indoors.  Starting on November 5th the market will be inside the Burnsville Town Center, with all the fresh and processed local goodies continuing! While some growers have encountered frost, most will have fall produce for sale well into December.

This week expect to find apples, arugula, beets, bok choy, broccoli, cauliflower, collard greens, garlic, kale, kohlrabi, assorted greens and lettuces, microgreens, nettles, onions, peppers, potatoes, pie pumpkins, purslane, radishes, spinach, Swiss chard, tatsoi, turnips, and winter squash.

Of course the market offers lots of goodies beyond plants and produce.  Several market members have eggs for sale – including duck eggs and quail eggs.  Rounding out the offerings are goat cheese, meats, baked goods, hot sauce, homemade jellies and jams, fresh-cut flowers, personal care products and country crafts.
